Conclusions of the conference “Governing Urban Futures”

After holding the conference Governing Urban Futures in Delhi (India) last November, organised by the London School of Economics LSE Cities initiative, the journal has been published summarising the main contributions and ideas that were drawn from it.

The conference brought together important figures and experts in the analysis of local governance, strategic planning managers, renowned urban planners and architects and mayors and representatives from the local world, among others, to discuss issues such as the relationship between urbanisation and governance and the importance of applying inclusive governance to city design.

The publication includes the main results of the survey on urban governance produced by LSE Cities with the support of the UCLG DAL Committee and UN-Habitat, as well as various statistics on the population of a number of the world’s largest cities and information on the economy, society, governance and transport.
