The State of the Asian and Pacific Cities 2015: Urban transformation. Shifting from quantity to quality

The State of the Asian and Pacific Cities 2015: Urban transformation. Shifting from quantity to quality’ is the latest report in the State of Cities - Regional Reports series published by UN-Habitat (the United Nations Human Settlements Programme) in conjunction with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Based on the results and reference data from the 2010 report, this document analyses the role of the region’s cities in relation to national, regional and world development, including changes and new political opportunities, bearing in mind the gap between current urban patterns and the need to switch to a more inclusive and sustainable urban future.

The report aims to contribute to the description of policy on urban change in the region with a view to the Habitat III Conference.
