On the 17th and 18th September took place, at the city of Rosario (Argentina), the days “Territorialize the Agenda for Development” , co-organized by the Regions’ Forum of UCLG, from which the Barcelona Provincial Council is part of, as well as the province of Santa Fe (Argentina). The objective of these days was to debate, share, and think about the important paper of articulation that subnational governments play in the implementation of the SDG, adapting them to the reality of each city and region.
Representatives of the local and regional governments, as well as from networks and institutions from different parts of the world, assisted to the event, with the aim of exchanging experiences and strategies that contribute to the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals in the territory. Among the good practices presented, we find the “Law of neighbourhood improvement, urban areas and villages that need a special attention” of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Badalona city project “Residential strategic area of the Star”.
The days allowed restating the compromise of the regions with the localization of the SDG, activating the needed dialogue rural-urban, and establishing a paper for the Regions Forum of the UCLG that allows confronting the challenges of the 2030 Agenda at the regional level.
