From 18 to 21 May 2015, the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, will be hosting ‘Live the City’, the annual meeting of the METROPOLIS association. This meeting, bringing together the metropolitan cities and regions with over one million inhabitants, will serve as an international forum for discussing common topics and concerns.
On this occasion, inclusion, innovation and sustainability will be the event’s strategic themes, where the different experiences in the urban context of the large cities in the METROPOLIS network will be presented, contributing to the discussion on the model cities should adopt in the future. Thus, representatives of the metropolises will initially acquire an integrated view of the challenges and opportunities of urban management in the different territories. In addition, the event will host the statutory meetings of METROPOLIS, culminating with the celebration of the association’s 30th anniversary.
METROPOLIS, as part of the UCLG, has strengthened its commitment to local government to reinforce its desire to cooperate, unite neighbours and thus prepare for the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III).
